Vanbrugh Gate - Castle Howard

Vanbrugh Gate - Castle Howard

An original painting from my 2016 Collection ‘A Sense Of Place’.

There is a debate about whether this gatehouse on the road to Castle Howard is called Vanbrugh gate or Carmire. The traffic on this narrow road can be busy during the day so I got up at 4am as the sun was rising and a mist was slightly covering the ground which added to its mystery.

Media: Acrylic on board
Size: 19in x 19in

The painting is supplied in a beautifully handcrafted frame made from a combination of hand painted pine and solid oak by local Yorkshire craftsmen and women.
