In the middle of the English winter I long for warmer climes so all the colours in the studio end up being hot. In my imagination I am in Southern Spain or Morocco. Violet de Bayeux, Rouge Breughel, Rouge D'orient, Rose Tyrien, Rouge Vermillion, are the colours of passion and comfort so much the opposite of England in January. The uplifting and therapeutic effects of colour are such an intrinsic part of design and contribute greatly to our mental and physical health.
The painting is supplied in a beautifully handcrafted frame made from a combination of hand painted pine and solid oak by local Yorkshire craftsmen and women.
Size: 19in x 19in
